Muslim welfare Institute
A message from Moulana Saeed Ahmad (Imam of Jameah Masjid Preston), Moulana Ilyas Desai (Imam of Ma`hadus Shuhadah Preston) & Moulana Yusuf Patel (Ummah Welfare Trust), all 3 visited Bangladesh during the year:
`Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries of the world, as we travel mile upon mile in the cyclone affected areas nothing is visible except ready to fall houses & shops. According to statistics, 82% of the population of Bangladesh live under $2 a day. Repeated disasters have exacerbated problems of poverty, reliance & dependence. To top it all, the sheer numbers of orphans, widows and needy people amongst the total population of over 130 million people makes Bangladesh a perfect breeding ground for agencies who prey on the Imaan of these unfortunate people. We would urge all brothers & sisters to donate whole heartedly to the projects of the M.W.I. so that the Imaan & Islam of the Muslims can be safeguarded for generations to come`.
